Evergreen Eggers
Exclusive to Cedar View Acres
Introducing our exclusive Evergreen Egger project line—the charming offspring of our favorite heritage breeds, carefully selected to create Olive Eggers. Though still early in our journey, these birds are the result of a dedicated breeding project on our farm, offering you a unique and visually stunning addition to your flock.

Evergreen Eggers inherit traits from their parent breeds, displaying a mix of brown, wheaten, and partridge feather colours. Our standard for this breed also includes featherless legs, pea combs, and beards, making them exceptionally winter-hardy.

With their friendly, easygoing nature, Evergreen Eggers are a joy to have around. You can expect approximately 200 eggs per year from fully grown birds. As a multi-generational project line, their eggs come in an array of speckled green, various shades of green or olive, and occasionally deep browns.

Fibro Easter Egger
Exclusive to Cedar View Acres
Introducing an exclusive new project line on our farm that is being reimagined for 2025. We have carefully selected a few breeds to create a truly unique variety of Fibro Easter Eggers. These chickens will make a striking addition to any flock!

Fibro Easter Eggers inherit traits from their parent breeds, showcasing a mix of feather colours, including wild-type black, grey, browns, and whites. Our standard for this line includes pea combs, beards, and fibro (black or mulberry) skin, adding an extra layer of uniqueness to this breed. While not every chick may exhibit these traits in 2025, we are diligently working towards this goal.

These chickens are expected to be friendly in nature and winter hardy. Fully grown birds will lay approximately 200 eggs per year, in a beautiful array of blue, seafoam green, and pinkish-beige shades. These vibrant eggs will certainly help you create that Instagram-worthy egg basket.
Ameraucana "Easter Egger"
Feather colour not recognized as SOP, but they still are Ameraucanas!
Not to be confused with our Fibro Easter Eggers! These are pure Ameracaunas, however according to the Ameraucana Breeders Club standard of perfection, these are marked as Easter Eggers due to their feather colouring not being of a recognized colour. These Ameraucanas will breed true for egg colour; the only difference is that their feather colours will be an array of black, mauve, blue with other colour leakage. Becuase of this, our line of Ameraucana's is not recommended to add to a pure-bred breeding pen, however if you're looking for a great layer to add to your backyard flock or project line, then they may be the perfect fit.

Ameraucana/Americana/Easter eggers - whats the difference?
Americana is a fancy name for mixed breed chicken, which most beginners easily confuse with the pure bred Ameraucana. Most hatcheries (including large-scale) will name them Americana's as a hat tip to the Ameraucna breed they are likely crossed with, but these will more than likely not always be guaranteed to lay blue eggs. While there is nothing wrong with this (as we also have our own project breeds) its always best to ask questions to make sure you're getting 100% what you want!
Easter Eggers can be a mix of any variety of chicken breeds that do not produce a consistent egg colour (aka they do not "breed true"). They are technically the mutts of the chicken world, but we love them just as much! Easter Eggers also do not always have to be crossed with an Ameraucana in order to be marked as such.
Welsummer
Dark, heavily speckled egg producers
Welsummers are renowned for their speckled eggs, making them a sought-after breed among poultry enthusiasts. Our line comes from carefully selected Welsummers that produce dark, speckled eggs—giving other dark egg producers and breeds, such as the Maran, a run for their money.

Welsummers are not only beautiful but also have charming, easy-going personalities. This medium-sized bird is known for its calm and friendly demeanour, and these chicks quickly become beloved members of any flock. As they grow, their distinctive feather patterns will make them stand out in your coop. They are reliable layers, producing approximately 160 to 180 large eggs per year.

Fun Fact: This is the only breed we offer that can be sexed at hatch!
Hmong
Unique and rare fibromelanosis (fibro) breed from south Asia
Originating from Southeast Asia, Hmong chickens stand out in any flock, combining beauty with practicality. They have a calm temperament, good egg production, and a hardy nature.

Hmong chickens are medium-sized birds, with their most distinctive feature being their contrasting, varied wild-type feather colours, which have a beautiful, iridescent sheen. This breed also has dark fibromelanotic (fibro) skin, a trait shared by a few other chicken breeds, such as the Silkie and Mosaic.

Hens are good layers, producing around 150 to 180 eggs per year, with medium-sized eggs in cream or light brown colours. Whether you’re looking to add diversity to your flock or seeking a reliable egg layer, the Hmong chicken is an excellent choice.
Cuckoo Polish
A favorite on the farm, rare colour in Alberta
We’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of our Cuckoo Polish, which will be available starting in 2025! We fell in love with this breed in our first year of chicken keeping, with our golden-laced hen, Peanut Butter, being the perfect representation of this quirky, friendly, and unique breed.

One of the most endearing qualities of the Polish chicken is its friendly and sociable nature. Known for their docile temperament, they are an excellent choice for families, small farms, and urban homesteads. Their temperament makes them easy to handle, and they often enjoy interacting with their human caretakers. Curious and intelligent, they display a charming demeanour that is sure to bring joy to your daily routine.

We have chosen to focus on the mesmerizing cuckoo colouring—a striking mix of black and white barring (striped pattern)—and aim to have most of our flock fully bearded. For our 2025 generation, some chicks will be solid black. Polish chickens typically lay about 180 medium-sized white eggs per year.
