Do you ship eggs and chicks?Due to the micro-hatchery volume our farm offers, at this time we do not offer shipped eggs and chicks. They are available for local pick-up only.
-
Do you offer POL or adult birds?Occasionally we will have point of lay (POL), or adult hens and roosters, but usually not until late summer or early fall. When available, they will be available through our Facebook page on a first come, first serve basis.
-
Are your chicks sexed? Do you have female chicks? All breeds, except for our Welsummers, are sold as unsexed/straight run. This means that we do not guarantee whether the chicks are male or female when they are chicks. Our Welsummers are the only breed we offer that can be sexed at hatch and are priced accordingly. If your sexed Welsummer chick turns out to be the wrong sex, we will work with you to exchange your chick/adolescent chicken with one of a similar age pf the correct sex, or will refund you in exchange for the chicken back.

-
Why can I only order certain times of the week?Due our micro-hatchery size, we try to consolidate orders each week for customer pick ups. Why a 30 day rental?A 30 day rental period gives you plenty of time to set up the incubator, 21 days to incubate and hatch, and about a week to care for and interact with the baby chicks!
-
Can I keep the chicks?Yes! As apart of the rental experience, you have the choice to keep all, some, or none of the chicks you've hatched as apart of this experience. You will have to let us know of your decision in the final week of your rental period. However, please keep in mind that we likely cannot accept chicks to be returned once the decision is made to keep them. So, if in a few weeks you no longer want your chicks, or if by week 10 you have more cockerels than pullets, you will have to advertise and rehome them on your own.
-
I've got everything home - now what? Please reference your Homegrown Hatching kit guide that is provided in your supply box. (Coming Soon) You can also check out our blog and video tutorial for more details! As always, feel free to reach out at any time with questions.
